Operation and maintenance of machines and the manual manufacture and assembly of their components require an in-depth training and a wide range of experience. But even for a qualified employee it is increasingly difficult o execute tasks in a precise and timely fashion in face of ever growing complexity or alternating stations or equipment. Again and again, it proves to be a hinderance that much-needed documents and instructions are not available at the workplace – or have to be retrieved in an expensive way. One figure impressively confirms this: According to a study made by Q_PERIOR1 the German industry loses up to 23 million working days a year searching for information.

 

This is the reason why our tool k.CONTENT focusses on the harmonization of easy and fast access to existing information and instructions. Processed content is provided on servers or cloud systems and can be accessed securely and quickly on-site by computers or mobile devices. This combination promotes error- and stress-free work or training and thus ensures more productivity and satisfied employees.

Central element of the back-end is the media database k.STORAGE - either as a cloud or dedicated server solution. Smart devices can retrieve data stored in the media database and store locally recorded data such as photos, movies or audio files. They can also be linked to existing databases via their innovative interface architecture. k.STORAGE is managed by a content management system either by the user or by us.

 

The system is structured in such a way that employees can easily use it after a short introduction. The sophisticated voice control of the data glasses RealWear HMT-1 facilitates the fast access to the new technology enormously and is definitely fun. Depending on customer requirements, the device can be equipped with customer-specific terms in addition to the pre-programmed, multilingual voice commands. Of course, if desired, we can train all employees in the solutions used. After implementation of the system, we are also "REMOTE" available for quick assistance.

 

As a further element of the back-end, Mobile Device Management (MDM) simplifies the use of the Smart Working Tools. MDM means: we configure devices according to customer requirements and link them to a user interface. In this way, every configuration - who uses which device, where, in which environment with which content and authorizations - can be checked and changed by the administrator at any time.

 

Another advantage: Basically, the content stored in k.STORAGE can be integrated into existing e-learning systems, as well as new content, e.g. recorded live from a device. In this way, new work processes are digitized step by step and made available for the continuous expansion of a know-how database.

 

k.CONTENT provides excellent services as a basis for production-relevant data for all assistance systems. It plays a subordinate role where the content is stored - the decisive factor is that it is always available on the move (see also graphic below)
